Introduction
The Heat and Thermodynamics Virtual Laboratory is designed to provide an interactive, simulation-based learning environment that reinforces fundamental principles of heat transfer and thermodynamic processes. This virtual lab focuses on the core mechanisms of heat transfer—conduction, convection, and radiation—as well as key thermodynamic phenomena such as phase transitions, thermal radiation behavior, and thermoelectric effects. Through virtual experiments, students can explore theoretical laws, observe physical behaviors, and perform quantitative analysis without the constraints of physical equipment or laboratory scheduling.

Objective

The primary objectives of the Heat and Thermodynamics Virtual Laboratory are to:
  • Demonstrate the fundamental modes of heat transfer—conduction, convection, and radiation—through interactive simulations and measurable outcomes.
  • Enable students to study and quantify phase transitions, including energy changes during melting and boiling processes.
  • Verify key thermal laws, including Newton’s Law of Cooling and the Stefan–Boltzmann Law, using virtual experimental setups and data analysis tools.
  • Visualize the behavior of idealized thermal systems, such as black body radiation, and understand their role in thermal equilibrium and energy transfer.
  • Introduce the principles of thermoelectric effects, particularly the Seebeck effect, and explore their applications in thermal sensors and energy harvesting.
  • Promote scientific inquiry and problem-solving through hands-on virtual experiments that replicate the design, execution, and interpretation of physical laboratory procedures.
  • Foster a deeper understanding of thermal properties and their implications in engineering, environmental science, and everyday life.
