Introduction

The Modern Coding Theory Lab offers in-depth virtual experiments on encoding and decoding forward-error correcting codes used in modern communication systems. It focuses on combating channel noise to achieve high-rate, high-fidelity communications. Students explore advanced coding techniques, gaining hands-on experience with real-world applications and practical problem-solving.

Objective

Mastering Error Correction: Decode binary linear codes over bit erasure, bit-flip, and Gaussian noise channels, enhancing error resilience.
Exploring LDPC & RM Codes:Analyze the structure, performance, and real-world applications of Low-Density Parity-Check and Reed-Muller codes.
Bridging Theory & Practice: Apply coding techniques beyond the classroom, gaining skills for self-implementation in various communication systems.
