Introduction
The Organic Chemistry Virtual Lab provides an immersive and interactive platform for students and faculty to explore core experiments in organic chemistry through a digital medium. These virtual simulations replicate real-world laboratory procedures, offering a safe, accessible, and pedagogically effective environment to enhance conceptual understanding and practical skills. The lab encompasses a wide range of foundational and advanced experiments, from qualitative analysis and purification techniques to synthesis and spectroscopic estimation, fostering an integrated approach to learning organic chemistry.
- To enable students to perform essential organic chemistry experiments through a simulated, interactive environment.
- To develop analytical and observational skills through the detection of elements and functional groups using virtual tests.
- To provide experiential learning in purification and separation techniques like distillation and chromatography.
- To strengthen understanding of reaction mechanisms through guided organic synthesis tasks.
- To familiarize students with instrumentation and spectral estimation methods, including λmax calculations and laser photometry.
- To support faculty in demonstrating complex procedures safely and repeatedly for deeper pedagogical impact.
- To bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and laboratory practice in resource-constrained educational settings.
