Dynamics of Fluid Flow Lab

Broad Areas of Virtual Labs
Chemical Engineering
IIT BOMBAY
Introduction

The Fluid mechanics is a branch of the science which deals with the behavior of the fluids (Pressure, Velocity, force etc.) when fluid is in rest or in motion. The fluids are categorised in two broad categories liquids and gases. The fluid mechanics is a study of static, kinematics and dynamic behavior of the fluid. In Fluid kinematics the force(pressure) is not considered while in dynamics the force is also considered. The effect of temperature on behavior of fluid is not taken into consideration

Objective

  • To create a simulated platform to mimic the physical lab of Fluid Mechanics
  • To enable formative assessment.
  • To include pitfalls to make the user connect the fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics to the given lab.
  • To try take the traditional physical lab to higher cognitive levels

Target Audience

  • UG
  • PG
